SMTP relay
Send email from any application that supports SMTP, such as WordPress, WooCommerce, Laravel, Odoo or your own server, and get the same authentication and reporting as the API.
Connection settings
Open Integrations → API & SMTP in the portal. It shows your SMTP host, username and password.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Host | As shown on the API & SMTP page |
| Port | 587 |
| Security | STARTTLS (TLS) |
| Authentication | Required: the username and password from API & SMTP |
The From address must be on a domain you have verified.
Example: WordPress
Install an SMTP plugin (for example WP Mail SMTP or FluentSMTP), choose Other SMTP, and enter the settings above. Send a test email from the plugin.
Example: Laravel
MAIL_MAILER=smtp
MAIL_HOST=<host from API & SMTP>
MAIL_PORT=587
MAIL_ENCRYPTION=tls
MAIL_USERNAME=<username from API & SMTP>
MAIL_PASSWORD=<password from API & SMTP>
MAIL_FROM_ADDRESS=orders@yourbrand.com
MAIL_FROM_NAME="YourBrand"
Good to know
- Use the SMTP relay for transactional messages one at a time. For newsletters, use campaigns, which include unsubscribe handling and the pre-send check.
- Keep the SMTP password secret, like your API key.
- Messages sent through SMTP appear in Email → Messages, with deliveries, opens, clicks and bounces.
